Journey to teaching

My journey to becoming a teacher began when I was about seven years old. My mom always said to me:
"Make sure that when you grow up you choose a job that you will love, because you won't want to work if you don't enjoy it, and therefore you will be unhappy."
I always thought about that and I was blessed with great teachers who seemed to enjoy their jobs. I thought about what I would truly enjoy doing as a job and realized that would be working in schools. I came to the conclusion I wanted to work in special education later in high school. I have been a full time student all through college and in the past three years I have loved volunteering in schools. I feel that I have made a great choice in choosing Special Education. Throughout this semester I will be learning more about working with students with disabilities during my internship. I look forward to this experience.
